I would like a 2 ton carry, but would like to keep the tare weight down were possible. I would like a tilt body, but am not sure if it needs 2m under body ramps. Could I get away with 0.5 to 1 m under ramps? (just enough to pull it down as I drive on) Also, is there much weight savings in not having a full deck? (I do like the full deck, but if I save 100kg I could probably do without) Lastly, Aluminium or steel? (due to the above I would prefer aluminium, but if it is $1000’s more no)

The purpose for the trailer is really to move a tractor around and I am looking at what I can do. My Nissan Navara can tow up to 2.8ton but I know it doesn’t like much over 2ton. I really need to tow about 1.6 to 1.7ton so let me know what you would suggest.
